The Park Assist system helps the driver by braking automatically. The automatic braking does not replace the driver's responsibility for the accelerator, brake and clutch .
Restricting speed to prevent cancellation due to excess speed
In order to prevent excess speed, braking intervention may occur. The parking procedure can be resumed. Braking intervention to restrict speed occurs once for each parking manoeuvre.
Braking to minimise damage
When approaching an obstacle, automatic braking intervention may occur. The Park Assist system may bring the vehicle to a standstill before the obstacle under certain conditions, e.g. weather, ultrasound detection, conditions of the car, load or incline.
The Park Assist system is ended following braking intervention.
