Volkswagen Touran Owners Manual: Warning and indicator lamps

First read and observe the introductory information and safety warnings
Lit up Possible cause
Cruise control system (CCS) controls the speed.

Several warning and indicator lamps will light up briefly when the ignition is switched on while the vehicle runs functional checks. They will switch off after a few seconds.

Display

There are various types of cruise control systems. Depending on the version, the stored speed is displayed on the instrument cluster.

Status  :

  1. CCS switched off temporarily. Stored speed in small figures.
  2. System fault. Go to a qualified workshop.
  3. CCS switched on. Speed memory is empty.
  4. CCS is active. Stored speed in large figures.

WARNING

Failure to observe the warning lamps and text messages could lead to your vehicle breaking down in traffic, accidents and serious injuries.
  • Never ignore warning lamps and text messages.
  • Stop the vehicle as soon as it is possible and safe to do so.
